Poetry Courses and
Come and join poetry editor Katherine Lockton for regular poetry writing workshops in Central London.
Improve your poetry and explore new sources of inspiration with the UK’s leading urban poetry organisation at one of our poetry writing courses in London. Run by our poetry editor, Katherine Lockton, and assisted by poet, Peter Ebsworth, our classes are fun and experimental sessions which help participants hone their writing skills and venture into new and exciting material.
The workshops are incredibly accessible and versatile; people of all ages and levels are welcome to attend and the classes are suitable for those wanting to write their first poem in a safe space or for poets who want to add to their growing body of work. The aim of these poetry writing courses is to provide writers in London with a supportive, creative environment so that they can embrace their love of poetry while challenging themselves to improve and experiment with their work. What makes our classes so unique and effective is that each session weaves together elements of mindfulness, drama, music, sound, cinema, fairy-tale and culture, meaning no two classes are ever the same.
Every month, Katherine chooses a different theme for the day’s writing workshop around which all of the exercises revolve. For example, some of our upcoming workshops include ‘Shakespeare and his Merry Men’ and ‘Winter Warmers’ sessions one and two. Sessions may be attended as a one-off, or you can benefit from attending our series of workshops. As each one is unique, taking them together is an effective way to build towards a body of work. The poetry classes in London are run on a regular basis, and are affordable, because we want all poets to feel welcome to come and harness their talent with us.
