Description

Mindfulness is defined by the Collins dictionary as “a way of training your mind to concentrate on the present” this class will look at ways we can infuse mindfulness into our writing practice and ways in which the two can work together.

Using close exploration and reading of a wide range of interesting and exciting poems, such as Mary Oliver, Don Paterson, Wendy Pratt and others we will explore what being mindful can do to the poems we write.

Close readings of the poets will be followed by several writing exercises, this class will inspire you to explore and challenge your writing practices using mindfulness.
